Alumni and Friends Loon Lake BBQ & Tour 2017

On Thursday, April 27th, 2017 the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest was visited by UBC Forestry alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff. The afternoon began with a tour, and the first stop was the students from the first Urban Forestry Field Camp who discussed their projects and shared what they learned that week at camp. The next stops were the restored Steam Donkey and graduate student Adam Polinko’s research.

Guests then met back at Loon Lake camp for a reception where Ken Day, Manager of the Alex Fraser Research Forest was recognized as this was his last camp at Loon Lake before he retires next year. The evening ended with a delicious steak dinner prepared by the Loon Lake staff.

Thank you again to those who joined us and we hope to see everyone again next year.
